article image placeholderUploaded by @IsleofWight
So just be careful if you are going to do a coastal walk that you know the tide times and you safely know how to get back to your car or the buses. Once you get round towards Black Gang, china Chilton China brook the beaches become more gentle and especially along Military Road and up to Freshwater Bay. The beaches have good access and they're really, really wonderful walks. Once you get to Freshwater, you can access the beach, but you can't walk round round from the Needles

Again, you can head down to the beach, but there's a small strip of beach which you can walk along, and it's not advised to walk round to Fishbourne. From Lower Woodside Beach, the tide comes up and it's very muddy. So Fishbourne Beach has got public access. You have to then head up onto the footpath. That takes you past Quarabbee to Players Beach. So the footpath goes past Korra Abbey, then it goes past the ruins

Again, it's private above mean high water, but it does have public access, which is deceiving. So you can walk down to Orchard Bay on the beach via a footpath, but really you can go down and have a look and then walk back up again. Woody Bay, moving further down St Lawrence, is accessed via a footpath and then no issues with its use. And then you've got Binnel Bay, St Lawrence
