At What Age Did You Realize You Don’t Want To Be The Strong Black Independent Woman?

You can't put your needs first. And I'm just like, why the hell not? Why are we always telling black women, you have to be everything and you cannot ever get tired? We don't tell no other race this narrative. Only black women. So at 21, I was taking a marriage and family course. Shout out to my professor, Dr. Wade, and I learned about family dynamics, and I learned specifically about black family dynamics

Lets discuss why society forces this narrative on us and why i rejected it at 21. #rant #blackwomenissues #blackgirl #blackwomen #mentalhealth

I studied a lot on gender polarities and masculine and feminine poles and how to maintain them in a relationship and what happens when they flip and all this other stuff. And so I went down this deep, deep, deep year long rabbit hole of understanding the dynamics of masculine and feminine essences, and it matters. It matters more than a lot of people think. And there's not a lot of traditional education or talking or insights on it. There's definitely not enough conversations about it

I also took gender equality courses for my sociology degree, and it really makes you think that as a woman and as a man, we have some differences from you as a white male and as me as a black woman, and our lives are totally different. And if I was a white woman instead of a black woman, there would be some things that a white woman has more advances on than I would
