Because that was something which was helping me to let my thoughts out. And eventually I started my writing journey. So as of now, I am a full time writer. So I'm doing content writing. Apart from that, I am also writing my books. So after the quest of Vermilion, I have started working on my second book as well. So hopefully in the course of few months my readers will be able to get that

Thank you for sharing your journey. So Candidly and I, and of course, all of the listeners here are indeed waiting for that new book that you're about to release. Coming to the book that we'll be talking about today, that is The Quest of Vermilion. It is an interesting read on mythology, culture and much more. What, according to you, is the USP of the book and what do you think readers expect as they pick up the book?

@inikachoudhary

For me, it's really great to know that the title and the topic, it's interesting for the readers. And if I talk about the USP of the book, I would say that in the lead character, in the protagonist, you would find just another modern day woman, just like you and me. Just like every other modern woman. We have advanced in our careers, we have grown in our mindset, but the society may not have grown that parallel

That is indeed a great USP. Pallabi I believe, as women, most of us have faced prejudices at some point in our lives, and for many, following traditions has become cruelsome to such an extent that it hampers our creativity, it hampers our freedom and our very will to live. So, yes, I believe this book will have a good emotional connect with all of those who read it. Since we're talking about culture, your book is definitely an ode to culture as well as mythology

Well. I feel culture exists in a stable form which allows people to rely on the same grounds so that they can adapt well with their surrounding environment. Now, culture may have a deep impact on human life because culture and traditions, actually they help to develop that ability to organize ourselves and our thoughts properly. I feel that people have to organize their lives, interests and duties according to the norms set by our culture and the way the cultural influence impacts human life

Thank you for that. Pallabi that is a very comprehensive account of such a vast topic as culture. So thank you for that coming to your book. Again, the quest of Vermilion is based on a female lead and her relation with culture, as you previously mentioned. Now, as a society, do you believe we have burdened our women with the weight of cultural beliefs just in the name of holding our traditions? What are your ideas on this?

@inikachoudhary

You? Well, I feel that we all have evolved. But the culture setup, I would say that needs to evolve hand in hand somewhere. The burden of upholding that tradition, the culture, as you say, it still lies on women, no matter how much we have progressed, no matter how modernized we are in our thinking. But when it comes to traditions, when it comes to culture, women are still feeling that burden on their shoulders. And the way to evolve is to adapt

That is very true, Pallavi. Again, upholding our traditions and keeping links with the past is all very necessary. But as human beings and their ways of living evolve, culture too needs to evolve so that we can have a harmonious balance in our life. So, yeah, that is there. Now, coming to your writing, writers tend to be verboss when they begin a piece, and I'm sure as a writer, you must have felt that too

You? Yes. I feel writing short stories, it used to be difficult for me in the beginning, but then as I slowly went on with the writing process, I could realize that while writing short stories, one needs to get straight to the point. So the plot needs a proper planning well in advance. The character set needs to be clear in our minds, the point of view, the conflict, the right time of introducing the conflict, the right pace of the story

Thank you for those tips, pallabi. I'm sure they will benefit all of those who are just beginning to write. Now, you have written several books. What is one lesson that writing has taught you? And have your stories helped in changing your perspective? Or do they portray what you have always believed?

And as regards my own self, with each story, with each short story, with every piece of my write up, I feel that I have evolved as a person. I have evolved in my perspective and I have gained a whole new perspective after completing a story. And writing has equipped me with a thick skin. I would say that is very, very important. And to stay self motivated

Thank you for that, pallabi. We'll be moving on towards the end of this conversation. So before that, I would like to ask you a question relating to blogging. Since you're into blogging, what is your one advice to someone who wants to begin their journey of writing but aren't able to do so because of any reason? And how can one keep the fire alive and not feel burned out? Especially since you talked about how writers need to maintain self motivation

@inikachoudhary

Hello. Well, the first and the foremost step for that would be to start writing. So we have to stop that procrastination. And if we feel that we want to write and we love writing, we should start putting down those words on paper. So writing is an ongoing practice. It's a constant discipline and it grows with writing every day. That is how it has helped me and to stay motivated

Hi, pallavi. It was really great to know about you, because you are someone who is like the other form. Because whatever you do and whatever your opinions are and the way you are doing things is the same way I'm doing. Because I am also an entrepreneur, a teacher, and now I'm working in a full time role. So when I was actually listening to you, I felt like as if I'm listening to myself. Thank you so much
