Hello, and welcome back to today's segment of Indian Talk. Hope you all are doing well. Today, we are going to be interviewing a very special guest who is an illustrator, a designer designer, a design educator, in short, an artist and a podcaster as well. So hold tight and brace yourselves for this fun. Filled in in in. In. In. In. In. In. In. In. In. In

And also since I teach a mentor, students who want to go for design, take up Masters or Bachelors in design, I also wanted to interview students or designers who have already cleared those exams and made it to a good design College. So that seemed like a good opportunity for me to sort of engage in conversations and take those stories to the relevant audience

Well, I think it's one of the silver linings of the Pandemic Slash the Lockdown situation that it helped a lot of people to kind of introspect and find some sort of new passion or some new trajectory they want to explore in life. And Yours is truly, truly a unique podcast. We are really curious to know how long have you been into art and designing and been a mentor for the same

Sanjay Reddy
@Sanjayreddy144 · 2:14
Now that I am following my passion, I thought, why not help people or students who are in the same journey, who are facing those same challenges, who are still struggling to switch to design from a different career path or different academic discipline, or even take up design right after your 12th? So, yeah, I think I've been a mentor for more than two and a half years now, close to three years

Aishani Chatterjee
@Aishani · 0:46
Wow. That's that's great. I mean, you followed your heart. You pursued your passion, and that's commendable you. You just went for it. You knew what you love and you knew what you wanted to do and just went for it. It's really inspiring. Moving on to our next question, which is going to be really useful for fellow podcasts. Can you tell us about your podcasts pro kit? Like, what's in there?

Sanjay Reddy
@Sanjayreddy144 · 1:36
But for the headsets I have Bear Dynamics 770s and a good Pop Filter would be a good addition to whatever I have now. And I did not get anything which I do not use as a podcasts or for podcasting. Yeah, that'll be what I would want to have a road dynamic mic

Aishani Chatterjee
@Aishani · 1:06
Well, I hope you get hold of the dynamic microsoon, since it's kind of your dream addition to your podcasting kit. But as you said, one doesn't really need a podcasts kid to become a podcasts, so that's that. And I'm pretty sure a lot of people will find this really encouraging and maybe some of whom were stalling to start their podcast might start it now. Tell us a bit about your journey, Sanjay

Sanjay Reddy

We spoke about it in the last episode and I will definitely leave a link to it in the description like you mentioned and about the content and how to make it engaging and interesting. When I talk about the raw things that usually people do not talk about. So like I said, rejections or the journey, the actual journey, it is not as easy as walking on roses. It's not a red carpet walk. There are a lot of lows that a person goes through to reach a certain point

Aishani Chatterjee
@Aishani · 1:24
And I think it's beautiful that you address these issues through your podcast because, yes, we do need more people and more voices talking about these, which a lot of people kind of err from addressing in your journey of podcasting, would you say a specific person has been your inspiration? And if yes, then who is it? Also, I want to know, who do you dream of inviting as a guest on your podcast and why that person specifically

Sanjay Reddy
@Sanjayreddy144 · 1:22
Well, talking about inspiration, I look up to Christo a lot. The kind of questions he asks in his episodes and the kind of conversations he has, kind of people he brings on board. It's beautiful discussions and each and every second is filled with so much knowledge. I learn a lot from his conversation, so I definitely look up to him. You can say that he is one of the inspirations

Aishani Chatterjee

Well, here's hoping that you do get to have your dream guests on your podcast. My last question to you would be what would you say is your motto on your tough days? How do you deal with creative blocks if encountered? And what tips would you like to give to aspiring artists and podcasters

Sanjay Reddy
@Sanjayreddy144 · 3:42
You are out of ideas, you don't know what to do. Well, I go for a long walk or I do completely different things I know that are not related to my work. Maybe watch some anime or listen to music or sleep or good old fashioned walk in the garden or go meet a friend. So that's what I do. And I exposed to completely different things which are not related to work, like I said. So that really helps. The third thing

Aishani Chatterjee
@Aishani · 1:04
Yes, you did answer all the questions and very well, actually, I think this interview is going to help a lot of people, not just aspiring artists or potential with customers, but every single person coming across this because the way you talk about dealing with life in general is worth appreciating and pondering upon. So thank you so much, Sanjay, for taking time out of your schedule, doing this Q and A session. It was an absolute pleasure having this conversation with you. I enjoyed it thoroughly

This is at Priyanshi. Hope you are good. And I want to ask is there any of your favorite drawing or painting in your portfolio? Like I also used to draw on the sketch and in time. So I just want to see some of your work. So can you share with us

Reeba Rajan
@Rajan.Reeba15 · 0:35
So Hi, Sanjay. This is reward. So my question for you, who was a role model and when did you realize that you have the potential to draw a little artistic mind? And how did you manage with criticism, like after dropping from engineering and trying to to pursue a passion? And how did you come out of that zone and make your near and dear ones understand what you are doing is right?

Sanjay Reddy
@Sanjayreddy144 · 0:15
Hi, Priyanshi. Yeah, sure. I'll share one of my recent works if you want to check more of my artworks, or you can visit my Instagram. It goes by the same name as it is here, Sanjay. Ready

Hi Sanjay. I'm good and hope you're well too. As far as the quote goes, it's something that I believe in. It's like you are your own competition. So if you're not better than what you were yesterday, then how will you face tomorrow? This is what drives me
Yeah. That's too amazing. Like, literally I loved it, man. I'll surely check out your Elisha profile as well. And we'll connect you there also. Yep

Sanjay Reddy
@Sanjayreddy144 · 2:14
So it was kind of tricky situation where I had to convince my parents that, okay, I want to go for design and not engineering because I had a job in hand. It was a little difficult, but somehow I did manage to convince them, and they've been very supportive, and they have supported me all throughout
