Sustainable Beauty - A Conversation with Surabhi Ganguly of Echt Beauti

article image placeholderUploaded by @Ramya
The brand also draws from the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda to formulate many of their products. Survey is of course going to be sharing a lot more about the brand as we get talking, but I'm really glad that she's taking the time out to be here today with us. Thank you sirbee and welcome to as well, Aged Beauty. What an intriguing name

We wanted our brand name to represent our thought, our philosophy and our core value, which is we wanted to emphasize on unadulterated aspect of nature, something which is authentic, that is not only just reflected in our formulations, but also the brand should talk about itself when we actually say the brand's name is a German word which means authentic, which means an adulthood and our value. Our mission with Ice Beauty is to create makeup formulations, cosmetic formulations which are as authentically natural as possible

concept behind the brand.. initial days?

Thank you so much for that survey. So how and when did the idea or concept for Iced Beauty come about, and how has your experience in running the business been different from what you had in mind initially expected? Because I'm sure getting into business was something quite new for you and your partner, and I'm sure you would have faced a few challenges along the way. So were there things that took you by surprise throughout the process of bringing your business to life?

I decided that I wanted to launch a makeup brand in Indian, made in India for the Indian people and made inspired from the ancient Ayurvedic practices because we for more than 1000 odd years have known how to use plants and herbs for aesthetic purposes which goes beyond food and medicine as well. And that's what I wanted to do it here. But I wanted not to follow just the aerodic Bay

For example, how you see these fancy mono cotton or fancy cardboard packaging for all the makeup products, those are basically done through printers who print those on papers. So the overall process from how from digital media to these designs and concepts convert to a print media is very fascinating for me. Every time I'm at the printer I get to learn a new thing, a new situation, a new combination, and how I should be planning around it

I must say, that really was quite a leap of faith that you took there, moving from cushy corporate job in New York to that of an entrepreneur. And it's so great to see that. It's worked out so wonderfully well for you. So my next question is a deep dive into the organic beauty landscape. So survey, what are the hottest trends in organic beauty currently that's doing the rounds? And which ones are the ones that you think will be the most enduring?
@SurabhiG

And people are demanding at the same time and the demand is increasing for a certain kind of product, certain kind of in fashion, maybe certain kind of design, or even certain kind of ingredients. Right? And at ICH Beauty, we firmly believe that we just do not want to follow certain trends or you just do not blindly want to follow

thoughts on 'greenwashing'?

That was so insightful, sir. B, I love your thought of crafting products that actually add value and are simple to adopt as a part of our everyday beauty routines. So, yeah, that's great. That's really great. I would like to kind of talk a little bit about clean beauty and a term that made me quite curious. The term is green washing and it's something that's become quite commonplace

But at the same time, it doesn't mean that they are 100% biodegradable. At this point. I'm calling myself sustainable. From the perspective, that one thing that is under my control and that is doable in the current situation and scenario is I can actually start looking into the sources of the ingredients and I can think about how my usage of certain ingredients can emphasize producer of the ingredient to follow other sustainable practices

That is the very first thing that I'm trying to do, and we are trying to do at AIS Beauty is provide you sustainable choices when it comes to makeup and cosmetics. So that tomorrow or today when you decide that I want to make these small changes in my lifestyle and make it more sustainable, you have that availability and there is no scarcity of such options in the market. That's my take on this issue. It

Thank you, Surabhi, for taking the time out to get into the thick of things, breaking them down, and explaining a little bit of what really goes on behind the marketing of personal care and cosmetic products so very well for us. So the demand for sustainable cosmetics is evolving, and more and more brands are looking to improve the sustainability of their practices as a result. What exactly differentiates iced beauty cosmetics from other products? And how do you manage to communicate this to your customers
@SurabhiG

So far we have relied heavily on social media where we have borrowed voices from the influencers who specifically talk about natural and clean beauty practices, natural and clean beauty products in the market available in the Indian market and help the customer base to educate them basically about availability of such products. And it is still an ongoing process

My last question is a bit off the track, but it is a question that is nevertheless very relevant to us women. So survey, how do you deal with the push and pull of family life? That all women entrepreneurs phase? How exactly do you manage to strike that ideal? Work versus life balance
@SurabhiG

But because when you're at work just focus on it, even if it is from twelve to 510 to five, just be there and be productive, be efficient at that point. And when you are at home, don't think about work oh, I need to send this email to So and so. I have not finished this statement or I have not done this with the CA because when the two words collide that's when you will find yourself off track and you cannot do justice to anything

Hello. Thanks for asking this wonderful question and I'm glad that you're liking the conversation so far in terms of competition for women entrepreneurs across the world. I will say at this juncture we are at a very crucial point in our overall human kind history. It's not more of a competition, rather it is a companionship. In terms, the more women come up as an entrepreneur, the more women take the plunge and follow their dream to be an entrepreneur

And then at times I like to indulge in some selfcare makeup routines and selfcare skincare routines that also helps me feel rested. That also helps me destress and relax, acts and prepare me for the next big event in the coming days or for going back into action. I hope this helps
