And he's always been the kind of person, what he wants, he would set his mind to, he would achieve. And I thought that was such one of those characteristics that I loved about him. And now that as we transition from this role of parent to guider, I have had to step back. I have had to really just say, you know what? He's going to make stupid mistakes. He's going to do dumb things

And I'm still navigating it in some ways. I'm still navigating it and I've been doing it for years now. But I will say that if you don't figure out how to navigate and how to turn off parental and turn on coach or counselor or like you say, guide, it can cause damage to the relationship because your children, hey, I'm grown now. I can make my own decisions. You know what I mean?
