LETTING LOVE IN | In The News - What new love does to your brain

article image placeholderUploaded by @hope
You want to be with your lover all the time, and you adopt some kind of irrational behavior. And they basically say that a lot of their studies show that it's a time in your mating process where you are slightly overzealous, maybe a little off kilter. I'm a romantic, and I'm going to say that's 100% true. And it's one of the best things you can experience before you die, is that sense of crazy infatuation

Because I think we all know that at some point, those chemicals that got us attracted to a person are going to wear off. And it reminds me of the book title after the ecstasy, the laundry. You have to be okay and be present in doing those mundane tasks together. And I think there's a real danger in trying to always chase that dopamine hit

Hi there. So I'm replying to my reply, and I just wanted to say that I don't want to come off as sounding like Mr. Spock, seemingly cold and stoked about love. That's not what I'm aiming for. You paraphrase the great spiritual teacher Shanti. We're just talking about hormones here. And at some point, for me at least, I'm aware and cognizant of those hormones being wearing off

We're actually quite not that unique as much as we'd like to think we are. It's like not try brain and also just kind of the space to be able to share vulnerability with your partner. Especially for men that are comfortable with leaning into the emotional side of love, that part is quite delicious

I think that's why this article was so interesting, because it was focusing on the newness. But a lot of marriages always talk about, well, we're desirous of that newness. How can we bring that back in? How can we reinvigorate that? And that's for a whole other conversation
