When The Pain Is As Deep As A River

And as much as you talk about it with others and you pamper yourself and you're getting better and you might be on the road of healing, it takes a while, and you're still going to have that baby, that crying child that needs to be dealt with. And what I'm going to tell you in my encouragement to you with tears in my eyes at the moment, is that you can't and don't suppress that child, because think of you as a child

No one ever says, I'm dealing with a lot of pain. Right now. There's one gentleman at church where we say, okay, meet and greet your saints, your church family. And he'll tell people, don't touch me right now. And that is valid. That is okay. But I love this topic and we should talk more about pain. Pain is real. Pain is every day. And some people go through it harder than others

I forget if it was in my student teaching or something, but I remember a particular teacher just telling me the things she would tell her class about herself, about her life, about even things that if the students did that upset her, that bothered her, that were upsetting to her emotionally. And I was like, just floored that she would do that and let her guard down. But she told me how much it seemed that the students respected her after and the connection she had with them
