Methodist Church Repeals Ban on LGBTQ Clergy—thoughts

But, I mean, I guess I'm glad, you know, I've heard some outrageous, just outrageous discussions in that organization. And it's amazing to me when I saw that this happened. So I am glad. I am pretty amazed that that happened, and I'm glad for it. I don't want to be negative about it. We are moving in the right direction. But my God, this is what, 2024? And this nation is just so backwards

I know. What? So, look, I'm not dissing nobody. I'm just giving you a question that helps, you know, I'm saying a question that helps because you inspired this question. I thought I'd never share it with the world. But you did. Regardless of path I take, outside of the ones that are the most obvious and traditional, get the path I take with utmost certainty. Lead me. I lead me. Not to God and heaven. Yes or no?

But I know that Jesus loves everybody. Now, do I agree with everyone's lifestyle? No. But I have friends that are gay. I have friends that are hilarious and funny and amazing and kind, and they're gay. I don't judge their life. I just love them, just like Jesus loves all of us. But just like you just said, if you weren't gay, you probably would choose something different. Well, I'm not gay

Hey there. Thanks for your response. I want to be honest with you and say that I don't really fully understand what you're saying. I think you need to work on maybe talking slower or something. It's very difficult for me to understand what you're saying in the manner in which you speak. I'm not sure why that is. I can't pinpoint it. It's not anything to do with accent or anything, but it was just very difficult for me to understand you

Thank you, Lady Fi, I love you, and I appreciate you making your stretch along your belief systems and that you are an advocate for your fellow gay friends. Thank you

The only thing I meant to say was I thank you because I didn't know this and that I know people who I believe, who are in the gay community, who are also religious leaders, who have not failed at their task of keeping religious institutions on the cutting edge and as innovative as possible to stop the flight that people have made away from these institutions due to their ineffectiveness relative to the ongoing developments of the rise of a technologically driven society and its accompanying stimuli. And they have typically not failed

The church I'm at right now is pretty much a dying congregation. And what I mean by that, that they're not adding new people and it's a very elderly congregation and so it just keeps shrinking and shrinking and it's a wonderful, they're a wonderful group of people, but it's eventually going to die because it's just there's, it's, it can't sustain itself the way it is and they don't want to change their ways
