Gay Christian: Lost and Found Spirituality? Where are You?
When I eventually came out later in life, it was really hard for me to that unraveled everything in my spirituality, and I lost all kind of connection with my religious circles, and it's taken me years and years to separate out things and what is my spirituality now. I almost lost my faith altogether because of the bashing and the homophobia and the church and all that stuff

And I'm not saying anyone else's would be wrong because I also kind of have some shamanism in there, and I believe some things around Buddhism are correct. I think there's crossovers in our beliefs more than we want to realize. But Jesus Christ in Christianity is the center core of my faith, and that's where I connect to

I can't speak to any of the other faiths, but directly talking about Christianity, it's in a very dark place. They have distilled it down into such a simplistic, hate filled thing on the national level. Not individually, not individual churches or anything like that, but I'm just talking about what gets presented as faith and religion on the news. It's all about either abortion or removing protections to gay folks. They've taken Christ completely out of their faith

And what I say I'm not sure if I said this in this particular post, but what I say is that America worships the Bible and not God in an Americanized version of the Bible and out of context and all that sort of stuff
