How i STOPPED drinking

And as gracefully as I can put it, alcoholics will always be considered alcoholics. Coming to terms with that was the first step and just a little bit more about that. I've been taught through AA to accept the fact that I am an alcoholic. It helps us to understand that we will never see alcohol the same way that an average person can handle alcohol in an act of normalcy. So this information always keeps me grounded in knowing that I cannot handle alcohol or have just one drink

And coming to terms with that was a big thing because there's a lot of things as a child that I was obviously blind to. And as an adult, I finally see all of the things that added up to me wanting to drink once I was a teenager. So, yeah, I'd say that alcohol in the family, alcoholism throughout our family is definitely a common matter, but it's also what can drive a lot of people to drink

You. Hey, I love your journey, and thank you for talking about it here, biblically and helping others also find comfort in knowing that it's possible. I have a question for you, and that's beyond knowing the why, which you kind of outlined is understanding your why, which is huge, what would be would you say the next step is as far as, like, replacement and proper our mitigation?

And those things have been really useful for me. Again, it's not for everybody, but for me it's helped this time around because I was sober for two years before and this was a few years ago, I suffered from a pancreas attack and that's when I stopped drinking for two years. And I feel like I thought it was going to be my final wake up call, but it wasn't. And I think what I really needed was extra guidance besides myself
