If COVID Is Just a Type of Flu, Why Do We Have LONG Covid Now?🤨

article image placeholderWhat we know about long COVID — from brain fog to physical fatigue : Short Wave
Long COVID is a problem. I think I've mentioned it on here that I've done some deep digging, and I found out that those who have diabetes, particularly type two, they caught it six to seven months after they had COVID. That seemed to have been the pattern, and that's what happened in my case. I've always had great lab work, but at the end of 2021, me and my husband both had COVID. Of course, we got better within two weeks

You. Hey, thanks for sharing the article. I also know somebody who's had debilitating lethargy and just a lack of energy after getting Covid like a couple of years ago. The real question that I'm wondering is statistically what percentage of people getting Covid today are experiencing the long Covid effects. Not everybody is. And I think during the pandemic, I was hearing something like 10% or 8% or I don't know

You. I just looked on Google and according to Google, ten to 50% of people report having symptoms after Covid goes away. And that up to 65 million people worldwide now have long Covid. And this was from December 2023. Just looking up on Google Long Covid stat statistics. It was one of the answers that came up. Unfortunately, it doesn't give the source. But yeah, I think knowing that I'll be wearing my mask more often

And they have to go on, like, a special puree diet in order to eat because they can't digest normal food. This is months after COVID, so COVID is definitely not a form of the flu by any means. It's not. So thank you so much for bringing this out

Hi, Gary. Thank you so, so much for your input. And I'm a person who loves looking at the data as well, when I have the brain, too. So I'm glad you mentioned about the statistics. And as soon as I heard you mention about what is the percentage, I started to look it up, and I don't know where these sources are coming from, but as soon as I googled it, I saw that the numbers were kind of scattered everywhere

And if our mind is not right, then everything else is not right. So COVID is definitely more than a flu. I have an idea of what it is. But just like you, I remember having the flu back in 2002 or 2003. So I was in my early 20s then. Yeah, I think it was 2002. Anyway, it was a really bad flu that I had, but I bounced back from it after a few days

So I'm really upset, really, because there are devastating effects to COVID. And people are putting COVID behind them. They're not looking at the lasting effects. I know some scientists somewhere is probably looking at the lasting effects. But I feel like the doctors and stuff aren't taking this seriously. And that's why I'm going in today because I want to tell her I have the hardest time breathing. I really do. I wasn't like that before

Hi, Evelyn. Thank you so much. And I hope that you have good news when you get back from the doctor. Keep us updated or private. Message me. I really do hope that everything is okay, but I do know when it comes to the illnesses, specifically COVID, it does have a lingering, lasting effect on a lot of us, actually

Hey, Erica, this is Evelyn. Thank you for your concern. I really appreciate it. Went to the doctor, like I said, it was a whole bunch of stuff due to me not being able to breathe. They want me to go to a pulmonologist, of course, because I've been there 50,000 times. They also refer me to cardiology because they do believe there's something going on with my heart as well. Because of echo that they got back
