And the reason why is because I took the time to do the assignments and reflect on what I learned from each of the math assignments. And also it's because I took the course over twice. So once you've taken something more than once, it kind of sticks in your mind. And I remember one of my professors saying that she saw me having a future in teaching math

Photos are books I will use to help myself and others😀 #math #academics #collegenostalgia

You. So math was not my strong suit. It has always been english literature, and I definitely admire people who have a way with numbers. It's like a special love affair. It's so interesting how they can take numbers and do the mathematics and calculations, and it comes so natural. And when I tell you, I struggled, I struggled. It was like my brain just shut that part off. Now I can pay bills. I can balance a checkbook, but that's it

Hey, Che. I'm loving this conversation because I, too, am fascinated with how people research, to put it into these books and documentaries and present it to us. I know when I was reading the destruction of black civilization from the beginning, the author, who's also a historian, he said he actually had to go over to Africa. He literally had to go there to do his research and talk with the people. And he's a well traveled man

And he was like, if you came to class, you would get an a. And I was like, I don't, and I have a b, so why are you bothering me? But the look in his eyes, I could see like, he wanted me to excel. But at that point in time, school was just not an interest for me

I studied. That was my breakfast, lunch, and dinner was finance math. So I definitely know that feeling. But I took communication. Now, that's the major that I didn't finish. I decided to take communications online, but I didn't finish because of. And this was around 2013, I think my financial aid money ran out or whatever was going on, and so I couldn't finish it

When he was saying three, it sounded like tree. And I really thought we were calculating the measurements of a tree. Girl. Hot mess express. The hot mess express. And then I had this one seizure. She refused to let me fail. Like, she refused. And I remember I didn't pass, like, that test you have to pass in order to graduate. Oh. You have to take, like, an extra class

And when I look back on some of those papers, because I kept some of them, I wish I could pull them out, but they're buried somewhere. I kept some of them. I would go back and look at it like, my gosh, I wrote this because I love teachers that pull a lot out of you. Your teacher getting you very early in the morning just to help you is amazing to me. That is a godsend. But yeah, I love this
