Hey, swell FAM. This is Erica bumpun's book pick. And let's talk books. So the first book I want to talk about is Secret Legacy. This is part of the stolen Legacy series by Ll. Farmer. Ll. Farmer writes amazing black fantasy books in the Stolen Legacy series. It's based off of a town, a black town where black people thrive. There's, like, little to no violence at all. Everyone has some sort of business they're doing well

And I didn't finish the book because, I don't know, the whole slavery thing narrative, that whole narrative kind of wore me down and I just didn't find it too interesting. But as far as the books that I read nowadays, I tend to read mostly science fiction, steampunk period pieces, stuff Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, EO doctoral, stuff like that. The warrior slayer or the warrior slave thing you mentioned kind of reminds me of the witcher TV show

And I'm so glad that I'm slowly getting into Sci-fi. I don't think I've read any Steampunk, but I do want to try out Jeannie Lynn's Steampunk series. Jeannie Lin, she writes Asian fiction and I absolutely adore it. Also the dubious books. I don't think I was ever into dubious books know, of course I've read romance novels where the guy was possessive but still a great guy. But I've never been into the really dark stuff

It's kind of hard to kind of find something that really kind of grabs your attention because a lot of that stuff does seem to have kind of like kind of boils down to Beauty and the Beast type of thing. And I think that gets kind of boring. I have a coworker who's in school as a screenwriter and she's pretty cool. She's all into whole fantasy science fiction, steampunk stuff

But yeah, I was into those things. I wasn't into mangas and animes like keep them far away from me but I learned to like them. And the thing about mangas is that there's something for everyone. Like I literally have mangas ranging from adult spicy to high school and then horror to drama. And like you said, a lot of the stories that's within the pages would not pass here in the States. I'm going to tell you now and the storylines can get really know
