Come On NOW!!!! 1,170 Unread eBooks! I’m a Mess🙄😭

article image placeholderUploaded by @BunBunsBookPick
And I'm quite sure I won't be able to read 600 books by the end of this year. So I'm going to have to pare that down just a little bit and make it at least 50 or 100 ebooks or something like that. I don't know. But that is way too many books. I'm a hot mess because let's not even get into my physical books, my paperbacks and hardbacks, let's not even get into that

But thank you for sharing this because I just thought it was cute and hilarious at the same time because, honey, you read so much. I thought I read a lot. But honey, you read a lot. And that is not a bad thing. There is power in knowledge, because knowledge is power

It. Okay, so you have a problem, young lady. This is. This is a. That's quite a stack of books that you have to read. Thank goodness. They are all. They are all digital. And you are not some kind of. Some kind of pamphlet order. Since I saw that you did mix and just PDF documents in there, I'm impressed. I honestly am impressed. That's quite a haul

You. Hey, Evelyn. Yeah, I have a lot of books, and I do read a lot, but I did have to take some time off of reading. I believe it was in 2022. I actually did a whole podcast on it when I was on Podbean. I told the whole world, I said I could not read another book reading so much, and I needed to take a break from it. And so I have

So I have a question for both of you. As avid readers, I do not have this gift that you ladies have of devouring books in entirety and then moving on to the next one. I did when I was a kid. When I was a kid, I would just lay in bed and read book after book after book in a day. But I get fatigued. I don't know if it's like

Yeah, they were everywhere in the closet. So I definitely understand where you are coming from with that, because I, too, just love to have a great book in my hands. So it took me a while to get into the ebook thing. In fact, the first time I read an ebook, it had to been when my husband bought the nook tablet for me. I absolutely adored that nook tablet. And I believe my father in law, he had got me one, too

It's a collection of short stories about the robots. And you can tell that the novels caves of steel and the naked sun kind of follow some of the. What should I call it? It follows behind irobot in a way. But if you do get a chance to read it, you'll see what I mean. It was interesting. And the naked sun, I haven't even finished reading that, so I have a lot of half finished books. But, yeah

That's another great story. I kind of feel like I'm in that sometimes. Or maybe the never ending story. I don't know. Lost my train of thought there. But anyways, yeah, books are great, aren't they? But as you can see, your recommendation is obviously needed. So I'm going to go check out that swell and probably go buy that book and listen to it. Or read it. Thank you

Hey, rooster Ladyfi here. I read physical books. I like audiobooks, and I only do audiobooks if I'm cooking or if I just cannot pick up a physical book. I love having the book in my hand because if I feel like putting a bookmark in there or creasing the page, I can do that. I know a lot of people don't like to crease the page

Hey, y'all, these are really great conversations. Luther, I can definitely hear in your voice how much you have a joy of books. And I love hearing that. I love hearing you, Ms. Evelyn, as well, because you share the love of books and the love of the physical page. So I'm just glad that we all enjoy books. And just to answer a couple of questions, or just to add some information about reading and readers burnout, it's an actual, real thing

My reading now has turned into the good reading. And I'm seeing benefits. Like, I'm a better father, I'm a better husband. That's not a thing. My reading is shifted to the good books. But I'm sure, as you know, lady fine, all books are good. Well, I mean, not all books are good, but the bestsellers are good for a reason. Yeah. So that's my $0.02. Ladyfi

Because I'm telling you, there's something else with sitting on your mom's lap or sitting in front of her crisscross applesauce, paying close attention to someone reading with emphasis and love. And you can hear the story, but you see the story in your mind. So yes, I love reading physical books, and I've always read physical books to my children because it's the joy for me. It is. It's the story for me

They will take an active interest, and they'll love it. They really will. And you know what? So will you. You'll look forward to story time until they get older, and then they might not want story time. But I'm going to tell you something. Every year, my kids still want to hear stories about Christmas, and they still want to know that mommy still wants to read to them. And yes, my kids are 17. She'll be 18 soon and 19

But I just want you to know, lady Phi, if your children don't tell you enough, you are an all time great mother. Hall of Fame mother, just from this last, your reply to that, your children are very lucky. Very lucky. And I'm happy to know that I'm on the right path because I read to my children constantly

You. Thank you, Rooster. I needed to hear that today. Your children are very blessed to have a really good dad and a really good mom. In today's society. Children really need us. And I think you're doing a fantastic job. And losing her to fiction. How amazing that's going to be. All the doors, all the avenues, all the things her imagination will soar

I can go to the mountain peaks out west. I can go to Mars now. I can go to quadrant five and six and meet monsters with six eyes. Or I can dive into someone else's mind as they talk about their neurological problems. And memoirs, biographies, poetry. It unlocks so many doors. But I am so touched by the both of your stories, and I love that you guys are investing. You're investing your time and your energy into your little ones

Thank you so much, Erica. And see, your daddy read to you, even though he was so tired and was working. And then he came home and he poured into you and look at you pouring into others now. This is a blessing. Thank you for such a lovely swell. You know, thank you for writing about this today

Personally, I wouldn't call you a mess. I wouldn't even call your pile of books to be a mess. I saw this the other day, and I loved it. I'll put a link here. But think not of the books you've bought as a to be read pile. Instead, think of your bookcase as a wine cellar. You collect books to be read at the right time, the right place and the right mood

Hi, Christina. Oh, my goodness. I love that I clicked on the link to the Instagram. I love the imagery and the music, and those words really help me to shift my focus a little bit. Like, I like saying to be read, but now it's like, when I think about those words, it feels like it's a grueling task to be read or to be done, but to view books as wine and a wine cellar, I think I like that better

It sounds like you do some that you just can't devote the time to, or you start it, or you want to savor it, or you're not in the mood for it, or it's a technical thing and you're going to come back and study it. Or there are lots of reasons for dnfing a book, and not all of them are bad. I should do a swell on that. Maybe I will. Thanks

And then, yeah, I do have some books that I dnf'd, and I believe one of them I actually challenged myself to finish, and I did, and I made a swell about it. I think it was called secret legacy. Yeah, it was secret legacy because I've been dnfing that for a year and I finally finished it. But yeah, I implore you to do that swell. That swell belongs to you to talk about the books that just don't get finished for whatever reason
