The Adult Report Card

article image placeholderUploaded by @Her_Sisu
And so that's a rhetorical question. Please, someone go up here and answer that for real. It's rhetorical. The credit score is the adult report card. How responsible is one with their money, with the ability to balance their debt to income ratio, with their ability to pay lenders and creditors back, et cetera

Credit scores

And I think people need to really learn. Like, everybody needs financial education, how the system works and how to rig it in your favor. And credit score, in my opinion, is not that hard to manipulate and bring up. Now, as far as with a divorce or a bankruptcy, that might be a little bit harder to do, but I'm sure there's some videos online that show how to do it. I don't know. Graham Stefan is a good person on YouTube

Now that I'm talking this out loud in response to your response to this twelve thread, but just how do you, in any type of business negotiation or life negotiation, look past a person's blemishes and this could be non credit related to say, hey, I'm based on some other variables or factors for me to consider. Based on those, I am willing to step out on faith and give this person a chance. But thank you so much for chiming in

So I can't really speak too much of this on a personal basis. Like, I have good credit, but because of other circumstances, cannot do anything with that. So it's not really something that I spend much time thinking about or looking into or anything like that. However, if I was the person doing business with other people, I recognize there are shades of gray, right, and the structures that are put into place. I-E-A credit score

@Her_Sisu I might be a little synical

But as a landlord, you have to look at the situation that if they miss rent, like if they miss a couple of months of rent and they have to be evicted, that could be like $4,000 to a landlord, which doesn't sound like much, but that's half year, that's half a year of profit. You lose half a year of profit and getting somebody else in there, you could lose six months, seven months of profit for the whole year

I know people with a great credit score, but their soul is dark. They are horrible human beings. So, yes, they might pay bills on time, but they are just very horrible people. It just gives us a lot to think about, right? Like, okay, yes, you might look at a score, and you might want to make these assumptions about what people will or won't do based on a number, and is there opportunity to examine the gray?

But she also talked about how I'll give an example where she said one person said that they worked at CVS and they listed because she asked for employment references as well. And they said John Doe is their boss at CVS and the number for John Doe. And so she said instead of calling the number that was listed for John Doe, because people often get family and friends to be the fake job reference for them

@peekaboo

Allow me the chance to show you that I have the ability to be responsible. Like, make it make sense. So I definitely remember that stage and space in my adult journey where I had to scour, it seemed like, to find resources to be able to establish credit. And actually, I can't even really say I scoured because I avoided, based on everyone's suggestion, the credit card companies that would loom on college campuses
