I have the privilege of interviewing my good friend Courtney, and I'll be asking her to walk us through her makeup artist journey and how she got started in the field. So with that, thank you, Courtney, for being here on swell today, and let's dive right in. Courtney, could you take us back to the beginning? What sparked your interest in makeup artistry, and how did you take those initial steps into the field?

So after I graduated high school, I was really struggling to go the traditional route, so I decided to search for makeup schools, and they ended up at makeup designery in LA. It kind of changed my life forever. It taught me so much about the industry and different techniques on how to apply makeup on anyone from like, 16 to 80. I learned how to do special effects makeup and how to even make prosthetics
