Mirror mirror

When I look into the mirror, I can't always tell who's there. In anger, there are glimmers of my mother's eyes. In sadness, there's my father's brows, the way my cheekbones move when I awkwardly smile as him, the way my mouth curls and annoyances her. Every time I look, there is not one but many facets changing at every new angle. I am him. I am her. I am everything in between

I really, really love that opening line and the ending line, which I feel is perfect for the content of this poem. Since you're everything in between. I feel like that this poem is a great container for that as well. Structurally, it's really beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing it

And we have so many ways that we like the same things. We think the same, we're both entrepreneurs. It's kind of scary. So in every way, I am her. So just when I say your poem louie touch my heart. Thank you

Thank you for sharing that with me. That transition from not being able to see yourself, your mom, and yourself to being able to see her in you is a beautiful transition

You're welcome. I'm still emotional over that you opened up something in me and I was able to see. But we are our parents, right? Whether they're good or bad, we are them. And I just thank God that I came out strong despite everything I went through. And I thank God for you for sharing that. It's so important. The words you said, so vital
