There were times I looked in the mirror and thought what if I changed it? What if I wanted something else to adorn my neck? But I couldn't take it off? The necklace told me it held the power and that without it I wouldn't be the girl I pretended to be. I couldn't take it off. I couldn't replace it. I couldn't hide it. The necklace held its power. When they broke it, my first feeling was a feeling of great loss
