What Was Your First Job And What DId You Do With Your First Paycheck?

So got me a big old iced coffee. And then I went to the mall, and I went to a place called tape world. Some people may not remember tape worlds, a very big music store for a very long time, they sold cassettes, CDs, if anyone remembers what cassettes are. So I went there, and I bought D'Angelo's debut album, Brown Sugar, which was released that year

I also, I remember the barbecue sandwiches. They used to sell baked beans as well. I love baked beans. And so my first job was at KFC. It was very busy. So unlike the store that you worked at. The manager, I think, lied to me because she said we're not as busy as McDonald's or Burger King. KFC was busy especially for me, working mostly nights and weekends. Weekends were crazy

I don't know. So long ago. Do people remember that and cherish that moment? Yeah, I don't know, man. I don't really think I bought anything of significance. I do remember I cashed my check at, like, a drugstore, because I didn't have a bank account yet. I did that for, like, maybe four or five paychecks. And then I eventually went to Wells Fargo, who I've been banking with ever since

But thank you for sharing your memories, and I'm glad I'm not the only one whose first thought was, I got to go get some fast food. First paycheck. Thanks for listening

Thart was an event indeed!

And this is what we had to do, because my parents were not very generous. If we had special wishes, then we would have to work in the summer to get it to ourselves. Yes, this helped me, by the way, to learn many trades. And this was fun, like putting tiles in bathrooms and kitchens, or dealing with sanitary installations. These trades were ones I learned between 15 and 20 for the whole high school, so called, let's say, rather grammar school

And I know I would go and get some snacks from the little supermarket nearby and maybe an item or two out of the dollar store. But the first job that I got where I actually got a paycheck, I actually had to go in cash. I was working in horticulture. It was a summer job, one of the little speedy jobs for the city. And I. I know that I remember cashing the check. I know that I bought a bus card

Like, please tell me you're an actor or voice narrator. I would pay money to sound like you. That's an amazing voice. But I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and your memories

Hey, thanks for listening, for sharing your memories. Really appreciate hearing those stories. And. Yeah, I think, yeah. When I first thought about a couple of weeks ago when I first came across something, I was like, wow. It was like, sort of like a flashback. I can actually kind of like, envision and kind of see parts of that day. So I really appreciate you listening and for sharing your thoughts and memories
