How Do You End A Friendship?

article image placeholderUploaded by @GlennPriceMann
And of course, what are some of the reasons why you might want to end a friendship? Maybe you've just outgrown the person or that person has outgrown you. Maybe both of you are growing in different directions and friendships mann. Things can have seasons to them and you could be good friends ten years, five years, whatever. And perhaps this time in your life is not the time for that friendship

Hello. Thank you for listening and for sharing your thoughts. I think what you said was really important. The why is really the most important thing. First, before you get to the how, why do you want to end the friendship? I think it's a lot of soul searching, a lot of analysis. And also, like you say, is this a really good friend? How do you value the friendship? And also another thing, what is the potential fallout of others around?

But like I said, I think it's a mature thing to do, especially if maybe you've pulled back on your communication and this person is just not picking up what you're putting down. Maybe you changed some things about the relationship, and this person is just not getting it. It's not registering to them that you're distancing yourself, or it's not registering to them that something has happened that has caused you to change your behavior towards them

And action. But I think you kind of look at friendships as you look at maybe like a plant or garden that needs to be tended and watered. And so if you don't give a friendship the attention it needs, then it will probably eventually just wither away to some point. And of course, friendships you can circle back around maybe one day and reconnect and become great friends again. You never know
