Thoughts On Social Media Influencer Culture

article image placeholderUploaded by @GlennPriceMann
So people have to be more mindful about the content they're consuming, especially if they don't like the content that they're seeing on a regular basis. Thoughts? Thoughts? Social media influencer culture can be informational. They can add value, they can be entertaining, but there's also a dark side. And it can be disinformation, misinformation, just bad advice. Everything from bad legal advice to bad financial advice to bad dieting

Yes, let us be cautious!

Hello Glenn, thank you for your thoughts. You're right, we have to be mindful. These people are not just our friends. Of course. The whole fact that they have success makes us envious, doesn't it? And people are throng with others. When they feel somebody is successful. They won't be part of something extraordinary. It enhances the experience when you feel many people share the same experience. That's true of other things, not only social media, of course

Hello. Thank you for listening and for sharing your thoughts on this subject. And I like that you mentioned the word envious. I think envy and jealousy. I think those words, I think those do fuel a lot of the feelings that sometimes people have within influencers, even the ones that they actually do admire or like. But sometimes it's like you see a snapshot of a life and you want that life, and that can invoke many different emotions from people, positive and negatively

Because one thing I've learned about social media being, I've been on it for eight years, everybody on social media is not on there for the right. It's not on there for right reasons and purposes. And you said that a lot of people come on social media to capitalize off people and seem like they know everything or they know something that they really don't know, something that they've stolen from someone else. And so we just have to be careful

The Art Of Critical Thinking #Research #CuriosityFlex

Hi, Glenn. This is a really great topic. And of course, yeah, the warning of how do we to your question, how do we re engineer our culture to seek out the truth we live through this era of fake news, and our political landscape really did a number on us when it comes to what's real and what isn't and the social media and the clickbaiting. And so our culture has been trained to do this and to do it this way

Hello. Thank you for listening and for sharing your thoughts. Appreciate the response and love what you said about the inference about the responsibility of the person when you're creating this content and when you're putting yourself in this position. Once again, thank you for your response. Appreciate it

Hello. Thank you for listening and for sharing your response. And I love what you said about research and about emphasizing that as part of StEM, because I do think that we do need to sort of give people, growing up, kids, the opportunity and the ability to develop these critical thinking skills and to sort of vet and think twice about the sources where they receive information from
