It's. This is my first swell cast of the new year and ever, and I thought I would just come on here and do it without overthinking it because I tend to overthink these things. And I kind of joined this platform because I wanted this to be a sort of looser place, I guess, where I'm not over planning, overthinking and just saying what I want to say or asking the questions I want to ask or being silly. And when I use the word communicate, that's kind of a broad stroke for a lot of different things. Not just our voice and not just how we speak, but also hand gestures and body language and the clothes that we wear, what we want to communicate by, what we're wearing, et cetera. I guess something more that academics talk about in communication circles. Anyway, welcome to swell

Hi, Wren. Thanks for your insight on the communication accommodation theory. That totally makes sense that any changes we make to our voice or gestures that we use to communicate is to help us communicate better with our audience, whoever or whatever they may be. Yeah, it was definitely just like something I noticed that I do myself mostly between when I'm talking regularly or even talking like this, which is a little bit closer to my regular voice, versus when I'm doing a sort of

Hey, Alice. Yeah. So something that I didn't really specify that you did bring up, which is, I guess, kind of part of it, is that typically people will do this subconsciously. It's not like they deliberately do it, except for, like, in that example I said about toddlers, you know, people will deliberately get down on a certain level
