Now, artificial intelligence has been around for a long time, but in recent years and the past few months, particularly since the advent of Chat GPT, AI is taking up more of an active role in day to day life. Nowhere is this trend more evident than in the realm of content creation. Businesses, employees and individuals are increasingly turning to AI content creation tools, and this is turning up the heat for content writers who have owned this space for the longest. So where does this leave content writers?

The role of AI in content writing. Meet @lia Lia Parisyan - a content and community expert and a veteran in marketing and communications.

What to use AI writing assistants for, the history of Luddites, and implications of this tech for the future.

However, when it comes to writing that has emotion, that has context, that's beyond 2021, right. There is a lot to be desired. Like, for instance, if you're grappling with, oh, I need a really clickbait email headline, or I need a more compelling article headline, you can use the tool to brainstorm to be inspired. Maybe you're struggling with ranking. You can use it as a way to flesh out an outline for an SEO article

@lia - thank you! Let's talk about the larger picture and long term impacts

And it's amazing at what people can create with just the matter of a prompt. And like you said, the accuracy or the quality of the prompt does dictate the quality of the output to a large extent. But regardless, it is also changing the way at which people, businesses and individuals can produce and publish things right? For example, five years ago, publishing a website or coming up with a website and going live with a landing page was something that required a lot of effort and time

@lia- how can writers use AI tools to produce content that's better than what they'd have been able to do by themselves?

So, based on your experience, having used GPT four, I mean, three and four, would you be able to give a brief outline on how a writer can make the best use of these AI tools and produce content that is, two x, three x, maybe ten x better than what they would have been able to produce by themselves?

If it's maybe a marketing guide or a photography guide, getting structure for an ebook may be immensely helpful, especially if you have writer's block. But you still need that expertise to communications the value of what you're teaching. So I'm sure there's going to be a bunch of books that are pretty shoddily written without really any investment from the author that are looking to turn a quick buck

@lia πŸ’―thank you for some amazing insights!

She's been an amazing mentor and a dear friend. And I consider Leah to be one of the thought leaders, one of the influencers when it comes to content and content marketing. There's a lot of wisdom to be gained from Leah. Thank you so much, leah and I look forward to this conversation and what others would have to say

Put in a blog post you've written and ask it to write it as an extended metaphor or a simile, or another writing convention, or turn a declarative statement into a question. So it can help in that sense. Or if you're really stuck with third person writing, move it to first person. And then that can also enhance the quality of your writing. I think what we should do is maybe do a video session on GPT, take people through

So I tend to be a bit long winded, so sorry about that. But will the content writer disappear? No, I think it will evolve. And Nidhin, I'd love your perspective on this topic. Where do you think AI is headed? What do you think of the evolving role of content? So I'd love your thoughts here

So since we're talking about writing, but Nick Arvin in The Electric Eden, his short story Telescope, is a beautiful piece of writing, and I highly recommend it. If you want to learn what qualifies as good writing, read that story. And I think we need to maybe talk about what is good writing and the conventions and the practices and really the skill, the grind, the editing, the torture that goes into it that just AI really doesn't understand

@lia I think AI levels the playground between deep pockets and deep passion. You don't have to step back for lack of either.

And AI is sort of leveling the playing field out between those with deep pockets and those with deep expertise and passion. So one doesn't necessarily have to compromise on one just to get the other
