Does GROWTH Taste Sweet? Or is it Bitter?

article image placeholderUploaded by @geo_rhymes
So this brings me to a pertinent thought should growth or the factors that contribute to growth taste good? Or are they a bitter pill to swallow? I approach this topic from a deep sense of reflection, looking back at some of the life situations that have been responsible for profound growth opportunities, and I realized that they have not been kind. They've pushed me to get out of my comfort zone, both mentally and psychologically

Everything in nature is growing - consciously or unconsciously. But why do we expect growth to be comfortable? #growth #philosophy #selfrealization

Hey, thank you so much for inviting me on your swell. And this topic for discussion is amazing. And all I can say is that there is one saying I can remember now, that growth is painful. Some times change is painful, but nothing is as painful stuck somewhere you don't belong. So I don't have anything to say that growth is sweet or it tastes bitter. But if we are growing, we are going to be out of our comfort zone. That's it

@Fragrance

Hello, Kushbo. Thanks so much for chiming in. I particularly like the point that you mentioned growth always happens outside of our comfort zone. And that's true. If you're not challenged and if you're not feeling a bit uncomfortable, chances are that you've hit a plateau. And in order to really grow, you have to get out of that zone. And that's something that I truly resonate with. Thank you for the input

Ahaju. That was indeed a very pertinent question. And we need to ask ourselves, where are we heading in our lives? Are we really willing to embrace life? Because when we think about the very word, life itself talks about only one thing, and that is growth. Whether we are growing physically, emotionally, psychologically, spiritually, really mentally, in every single sphere of our life, we can witness ourselves growing somewhere. Because the moment we will stop growing, we would only be existing

@Swatiselflove

Hello, Swati. I'm a big fan of this concept. Growth versus existing, right? Surviving versus thriving. And in order to thrive, in order to live truly abundantly, you have to grow. And that means dealing with a bit of uncomfortable situations or uncomfortable times when your life but it's important to understand or to equate that discomfort isn't always a bad thing. It's a precursor to better things that are yet to come. Thank you for that thought

#Growthisnotlinear

It's never linear, because growth doesn't happen inside our comfort zone. It's like a muscle. Unless we work on or push ourselves to build that muscle and create some tension, there will be no growth. Another cause of discomfort in growth is because it's a change. And change is unsettling. So when we are faced something unfamiliar, it seems frightening to us. To see ourselves in a different light may be uncomfortable, we may feel anxious and worried

You. Hey, Prague, I really appreciate your answer. I love the perspective that you bring. Growth is not linear. And I also love how you tie it all back to what is the alternative? It is to stay put and stagnate, and no one wants that. Everyone wants to grow

You? That's actually a very difficult question to answer or try and answer to. Maybe, you know, it's just our perspective. Things that we think are unkind is maybe our perspective. Perhaps we should try and enjoy the journey. But for that, we need to be stable, no matter the situations outside. Maybe if we are centered and stable, growth will always taste sweet. The journey and the ultimate goal. And then the journey ahead

@ashdew

Hello, Ashmi. You are right, I think that's a very underrated aspect. Aspect that no one really talks about. Stability, regardless of the situation outside, being able to assess life situations with a calm and mindful presence and not get emotionally affected by what's going on around you, it's something that isn't talked about too often or it doesn't get the credit that it deserves

And then after one of these very difficult periods, usually I come out into a period in which, yes, each poem still presents its own challenge, but I feel ash if I'm rising to that challenge and there's a huge amount of pleasure and happiness in those periods of time. And then finally, as I've gotten older, I've discovered that I can make both of those things happen at the same time

Hello, Katharine. Thanks for your reply. And also thanks for bringing in the element of poetry here. It was quite a unique revelation for me, because I realized that whenever I write poetry, if the initial output is not something that resonates with me, chances are not chances, I mean, I end up abandoning it. I don't remember ever revisiting a work and working on it, trying to refine it and make it better

Hey, Nathan. You know, that just got me wondering. I used to write poetry till, you know, college. Then after that, I just stopped and you know, I was thinking recently that should I try again? Would it be possible to write again? I'm not sure. Because that time it it just used to come to me, I felt. And now I think if I it down to right, I'm not sure if I'll be able to

So go ahead. Go for it. And as for is there a technique on how you can do it? Well, the only technique is, I think, just to open yourself up to yourself. Just be open to whatever flows and let it flow. And I hope you're able to maybe recite some of some of your poetry on as well. That would be amazing
