Lets talk "Alien" - new one coming soon

This is because I love that creature. I love the fact that the creature came to life in the original 1979 film in a very physically jaw dropping, no pun intended way. And how many of you loved that film? Alien and the ones that came after it. In fact, I think the subsequent movies actually added so much to the film franchise in terms of some background of how the aliens came to be, how human being species came to be. And I can't wait for Alien Romulus

1/2 - Neil Blomkamp, Alien franchise burnout, Fede Alvarez

Now, when Neil Blankamp that directed the utterly underrated district nine, just a brilliant, brilliant film, when he pitched his alien five idea, or I think it was like Alien five, or just his own, Neil Blomkamp's alien, that's what I'll refer to it as, because he was voiding out David Fincher's trilogy or into the trilogy with Alien three, and he was going to bring Hicks back, he was going to bring Newt back, he was going to bring Sigourney Weaver back, and he was basically going to make his own quote unquote Alien three

2/2 - TV Series, Streaming and cultural significance

That's kind of interesting, too, because it is showing that there is some auteurship involved in this entry. But for me, it's just exhaustion of these properties, because now it's as if nothing of a certain type of horror can stand from decades ago without us somehow wanting to add another entry into it. And what happens is that not only do you exhaust the property, it starts to lose any type of special feeling that you would get that a new alien movie is coming out

Thank you for your information and input. I really appreciate your lending some expertise to this discussion. And like you, I also look forward to the new film because I'm very curious and hope, hope that it's another good horror film. And yeah, I probably won't see it the first day, but maybe the second or third, but thanks again. I really appreciate you chiming in here

Oh, hey. And I especially really enjoyed hearing your description of the Neil Blancamp ideas. And thanks for attaching those photos. I'm gonna have to go look and see if there's more artwork available. The idea for a new direction for Alien. And when you said that Ridley Scott had kind of blocked him and went ahead because he wanted to do his own movies, which he ended up putting out. Yeah, that's kind of sad because Neil Blanco, I love him

It seems to me that somebody had given my brother, who is two years older than me, or maybe he bought it somewhere, an alien book, a Geiger book based on the movie with the art and everything. And that just absolutely fascinated me. So I had to watch this movie. And now I, I think of it as one of these iconic monster movies that was a breakthrough of that time

And how does the, what's the effect that we have of the, of the building out or the building on to this mythos? How does it then affect our watching, again, the first movie and the environment where we watch the, where we do our rewatching? So most of us will see the experience, the beginning of a franchise at a theater, although I suspect that maybe is starting to fade a little bit. But typically that's where we go ahead and see it the first time

I mean, there are people who I have to respect how much effort they put into actually figuring out the dates and locations of everything going on. He included in his video some video clips from various movies. Really great stuff. And it's interesting because you don't actually get to the first movie that came out, Alien with Sigourney and Weaver until way late in the timeline. Like the later movies actually take place as prequels millions and millions of years ago. It's a pretty interesting timeline
