To Disable Or Not Disable.. Comments?

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
Does it bother you when comments are disabled? Do you feel it is insecurity upon the poster? Or do you think there are benefits to disabling comments? And would you be inclined to do so if that was a feature here on Swell?

That is the question.. not really but it is for today. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Did she elaborate why she wouldn't watch? That's interesting. I mean, I could think of a variety of reasons of why someone might turn comments off. And I mean, in this day and age on the Internet, with people having no qualms in how their words affect anybody else or the kinds of information that they're sharing, I think that anybody and everybody, anybody who wants to put something out there has the right to put in boundaries

And who knows, maybe Swell might have that as a feature where you can opt out of getting comments and just post something because you just want to say it. But then again, that people obviously can follow up and talk to you anyway, in the DMs here, the private messaging here, or on another post, but it doesn't seem like that happens all that often here anyway. So, yeah, thanks again for responding

But I'm still going to watch it because I'm the same way. I mostly have my phone in my pocket. So half of the time s***, more than half of the time my phone is in my pocket. Like 85% of the time my phone will be in my pocket. Why am my patrol or sitting at a desk, sitting behind a desk somewhere on break? I may have my phone out just to watch the video. But yeah, interesting to us

There is a certain psychological effect that can be had when you disable comments, especially in a day and age now where there's a knee jerk reaction to respond to everything, sometimes to promote yourself more so than to actually comment on what is being talked about. So, yeah, that's something to consider. But thank you for the responses, my good friend, and hopefully you're having a terrific Friday as well. As you, Christina
