Culture Epi04: Who Own’s Culture?

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
Maybe that's not a great example. That's a true story, by the way. But another example could be if a person decides to wear cornrows. A white person, right? They decide to wear cornrows and start to talk in a black ebonic sort of way. Is that cultural appropriation? They are dominant in terms of race, ethnicity, in regards of creating the status quo of what is appropriate or what. Not so much as, yeah, what is appropriate

What makes it inappropriate to adopt one’s culture as your own? #culture #appropriation

It's globally, you know, especially with social media, us sharing culture, it's moving at a more rapid pace. You know, it's. It's very quick, and it's something that's been going on forever. Right. You know, back when we used to trade, explore, we exchanged, you know, ideas, and, you know, we. We start to exchange cultures, we start to share cultures, we take on each other's identity

What is white culture? We probably can argue about that for days, but I think there is something inherently amazing with culture because it carries with it traditions that we are aware of and some that we aren't aware of. Take, for instance, the birthday cake. A cake to celebrate your year, new year, of being on planet Earth
