Financial Literacy

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
But financial literacy, it's an interesting conversation, especially in the black community. And something as simple as having a bank account for some is a burden, is out of reach. Some people have bad credit. They've dirtied all their bank accounts that they've been with, all the banks that they've been with, to where they have to use these cash check places. Or like Walmart, I believe, they have some service where you can cash your check and they take away a fee

Whereas you are just pull yourself up by bootstraps and you're making analogies to the walking dead in terms of finances and yeah, people just bury their money in dirt. Yeah, we don't have that option where we come from a lot of the times. But thank you so much for your responses

It. I agree with the last person who posted. I would say now maybe in other generations it was more racial, but I would say now it's not as much. I know that am Caucasian and I do not have financial literacy. I was raised by my father who basically had a motto if you have it, spend it

But again, I'm just going to leave it up. But, yeah, I feel like you all totally missed the point of what I was talking about. And I certain topics, white guys, as cool as they may be, as allies as they think they are, they only add to the problem. And they aren't the solution. They actually are the problem. But thanks for your response anyway

Yes. You know, it's a little funny that Kevin Hart speaks on financial literacy, even though he makes some good points about what's wrong with the black community, about how it's been mistreated by the government and corporations due to systemic racism. I had no idea that he had his own liquor, his own alcohol. I had no idea. His own liquor. You say he's selling tequila, right? Tequila. And I'm pretty sure they're selling this in the ghettos somewhere

This is not about financial responsibility. This is understanding finances. This is not about how frugal one should be. This is about one even knowing where to place their money. These are issues that clearly, these two white gentlemen never had to worry about growing up. Clearly never had to worry about growing up. And I guess some conversations can't be all races are going through this type of combo when you yourself are not going through it
