My Pandemic Story

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
Is it safe enough for me to talk about my pandemic survival story? I know it's still going on. It hasn't gone away. And I hear that in Boston, they've been doing some tests on a covert strain that's 80% lethal. So maybe I am speaking a bit too soon, but man, what a crazy time. And all the variants of the COVID strains. What was it, the monkey pox? It was a lot

What’s yours?

But the thing of it is that I worked a job that testing didn't come out yet. Nobody had a positive case around here. My area, and I think it was for probably, I want to say for two months straight I had a cough that would not go away. I had all the symptoms of aches, fever, all that. That initial thing probably only lasted about, I would say a month. But the cough didn't go away until like three months later

He was advocating for it. It was a weird time, man. Misinformation was at an alltime high, and Swell was lit for a little while. Not so much with the rhetoric around vaccinations or not vaccinations, but more so around Trump. There was just so much Trump talk. You had to have been here. I don't know if you were here at that time, but my God, every day it was a crusade to talk bad about Trump

A lot of people are seeing less of the common symptoms that we had earlier, like loss of smell, loss of taste, all those are going away and even the cough more so is going away

What I did hear of recent news was the Boston some college in Boston making a strain that was 80% lethal or something like that. I think you had posted about that. Yeah. Obviously it's valuable information to have to seek that information can be valuable. Meant to say having to wear a mask, but I understand some people still do. Yeah, it's an interesting subject. Interesting story that I lived. The monkey pox thing was very fascinating as well for a time

6th grade, virtually finished fifth grade, virtually. Just very interesting times. What I marvel at is as we age in us being interviewed and people reporters wanting to speak with us about our first hand experience and the same for, like, our children and things of that nature, that they will be able to tell it from their perspective that this is going to be in history books, right?

You can only buy one set of toilet paper. You can only purchase one package of toilet paper. Yeah, you can't buy up like, four packages for twelve people. I remember I was supposed to go on this date with this girl. I was supposed to take her to this bougie a** cafe over on Lake Calhoun. I was supposed to take her out for lunch. It was actually a spot that she wanted to go. Yeah, she wanted to go there

So it really has such long lasting effects in terms of how we now view that sort of environment with workplace. And I remember the whole you have to stand, and there was so much controversy with that, right? You only can stand 4ft. So you're at the grocery store, it's this big a** line, and all the restaurants are closing down or limited capacity. You can't dine in anywhere because they've limited the amount of staff. It was pretty wild time
