October rain the October rain falls hard shutting out the autumn light far too cold to dance within washing leaves from the trees muting all the joyful hues should be helping life to grow but instead just drowns it out is this darkness all around merely from the sun's decline? Or is it these mournful clouds keeping daylight from our eyes? Now the ground we walk is slick coated by the storm's debris easier to lose your step it's likelier to make you fall to reach this uncertainty I did not need any help
