"Where They Fit In" - Poetry 4/28/23 - Response to @Renee_Slay

article image placeholderUploaded by @FromSilence
You where they fit in. I see you and your brothers and your sisters everywhere. I admire the way you live. The capacity to find always a place to fit in at home within the water and the drought's. Hard, broken ground found in places no one thinks thriving even in the storm. So versatile, though so small. Your place can be anywhere. And those who lack belonging could wish to be like you are

Okay, so this is just fire. I love it, love it, love it. And your frog is so cute. It really is. I love how you create around something. I love that whole idea of posting the picture and just having people just come up with what they will. And you killed it. I appreciate you joining in on it. That was awesome

It's more a sad poem, but it was directly inspired by a picture that I saw on Instagram back in December. And the person who posted literally said, this feels so poetic to me. And right then at that moment, I wrote like two little lines and posted it there just as a response because it felt poetic to me, too. And then it turned into a five verse poem that covers all the months of the year

So I can't wait. But I get it. We all need our little breaks. And what you said just resonated with me so much about your quote unquote negative poems. I don't know if you ever get a chance to hear any of mine. There's a lot in there, and so I almost have to take myself out of it and be and purposefully be inspired by something else to write, something that isn't so dark, I guess. But I will say this
