Your Darkness - Poetry 12/13/22

article image placeholderUploaded by @FromSilence
Your darkness. If you would ask my purpose, what part I'd wish to play, I have no hesitation but this. To you I'd say the keeper of your secrets, the holder of your shame. I'll drive out every shadow that seeks to dim your name. The guardian of your weakness. You'll never have to fight. I will be your darkness so you can live in light

You that comes from a beautiful soul. I love this so very much. And the final line I will be your darkness so you can be light. That is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing this

But yeah, those opening lines to to make it something more than just statements to nothing complete it to me. And this one is really dear to me, so it's nice to have someone else appreciate it and hear it. So thank you very much

Um okay, so what a gorgeous song that would make. I'm just how beautiful. Like, I love it. I just love it. So, anyway, I usually don't have mine involved either. Too much other than small editing changes. A word here, a word there, just because of how it sounds to me. But I could see this as a song. But my, what a beautiful poem. Anyway, thanks again

I honestly can't express to you right now just how much your kind words mean. Thank you very much. I appreciate it

You. Hello, this is Stephen, and I love listening to this one. I have been following your Poetry Month offerings. I haven't had a chance to reply to as many as I would like to, but I had to say something about this one because it was so simple but profound at the same time and almost pure. The devotion that you express and how you tied it with darkness and light. You I thought that was really great work, and the rhythm was lovely

I mean, in the end, it's not quite the same thing as having a response from the people that you write for, but having anybody respond is is more than I can expect and more than I usually hope for. So thank you very much. Just so you're aware, I do have some Moon poetry coming eventually. I'm not sure when I'm going to share it exactly yet, and I'm still working on some others, but I thought you might be interested in knowing that

Hey. I thought this was so beautiful. I just ran across a quote from Andrea Gibson, and it said, before I die, I want to be somebody's favorite hiding place. The place they can put everything they know they need to survive. Every secret, every solitude, nervous prayer and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe. That's what your poem reminds me of. To offer yourself as a container for someone is one of the highest forms of love

And again, it's always nice to see when someone else has a similar idea, and especially when they execute. It better to see that there's something out there that expresses it. So that if I ever wanted to be able to do so, I'd take somebody's better words and do that. Thank you
