Flying Training Incident

article image placeholderUploaded by @EricG
Investigators determined that the student pilot tried to pull up the system 172 at a very steep angle during takeoff, causing the engine to stall in the air. If you put an aircraft into a steep angle or positive AOA, which means angle of attack during takeoff, that means the engines are going to be at full throttle, which means you are creating what's called a power on stall

I remember reading a couple of months ago there was a situation on a plane and a gentleman and his friend were coming back from a fishing trip, I think it's in the Bahamas, and the pilot had a medical emergency and the person, one of the passenger who had no flight experience was able to land the plane. He said that in his mind, his wife was pregnant and he was just trying to get home to his wife, to his pregnant wife

It would have been the impact rate, and at that rate, no one would survive that. So anyway, that was also very sad. But yes, I agree with you. It makes you think, right? It makes you appreciate things. And aviation is something that I've been involved in for a long time, ever since I was young

Hey Eric, this is, you know, somber swell. Nonetheless, it is very informative and I appreciate your expertise on sharing light on this subject. There's definitely a lot of variables here and you're very well spoken, so it's clear that you know what you're speaking of. I got my Ppl 18, went to 13 months of self funded flight school to do so out of high school and generated about 250 flight hours before moving west and pretty much pricing myself out of continuing the journey
