And it was a mixed bag of emotions. I thought, wow, that sets him apart from a lot of other kids his age, that he would even do that. And I admired the fact that he wanted to help, but then as a parent, I felt really bad about that. We were struggling so hard that he would even have to consider doing that, because he should have never needed to feel like, or he should have never felt like he needed to in the first place

Times have changed, and I'm sure you're more successful than you were back then. And he's successful as well. So if it wasn't for you showing him their success, then he wouldn't be as successful.
