My thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive struggles so far during the 23-24 season.
And it's hard to even analyze Kenny Pickett's performance at this point because of the predictable play calling from offensive coordinator Matt Canada because of the offensive line's play. I obviously think it's a mix of both considering Kenny Pickett's a second year quarterback. He's going to make mistakes, but he's not getting much help in my opinion. The offensive line, I think it's hard to figure out who's more to blame, the terrible play calling or the offensive line

Now, I will say that if that is the case, rather than explode on Matt Canada, I would say that means that first and second downs become imperative then, especially first downs. And first downs are where the Steelers really aren't doing anything. And that is probably the number one fix that I would look at. If you're looking at a short term fix, you got to get yards on first down. You got to change up the play calling, do something on that first down

It's going to be the same place. Because guys cannot learn a whole new system in the middle of the know. And if a change does happen, it's just going to be what the Steelers always do. It's going to be hired from within, which was what Matt Canada was in the first place, was a QB coach and then grew a little close with Big Ben and then they hired him from within. So I don't think it'll happen

That was a team with jerome bettis in the backfield. They were ready to go. They just needed a quarterback that didn't lose ball games for them. I think right now kenny pickett is being asked to elevate an offense when that's just not who he is right now and most quarterbacks aren't. Everybody's not going to be trevor lawrence or even cam newton out the gate when he first came into the league. So I think we just got to give kenny some time, man
