In 1978, I drank so much alcohol at age 17 years old that when I went to the emergency room, after two days in the hospital, I was told that I had alcoholic poisoning to my liver and that I should never drink again. Of course, I went to a happy hour immediately upon discharge from the hospital, so that didn't work so well. 2004, I was in the hospital for eight weeks with an unexplained fluid build up on my left lung

And the statistical difference between the percentage of people who are struggling the virus in the UK versus what the standards are here in the US is dramatically different. So there's your example. The testing is what makes a difference, and that ongoing campaign in the UK has resulted in a much lower average rate of infection of both hepatitis C and, of course, cirrhosis as well
