Frog’s Hollow

At that time, my dad was very little. He was just learning to walk when they moved back in. My dad grew up in that house as well. We spent a lot of time going to the house and there were so many things for kids to do there. The property had a creek. It had wooded hills. We could just spend hours outside playing in the creek and running around on the hill. Have a lot of really good memories

It's so beautiful how many memories can be attached to a spot and the history that's in them. It's really beautiful and complicated also when you have to leave or leave it behind. But yeah, I was moved by what you were saying. Thank you for sharing it on here. And if you ever want to continue talking, you can just reply to your original post and then it'll just play automatically so you can keep developing those thoughts or telling the story

So I graduated with a bachelor of arts in anthropology, which, unless you plan on teaching well, going back to school and getting your master's and doctorate in teaching or working in a research field, it's a great degree to help you with conversation in a party, but it's not going to get you really far in the work world, except that you're teachable. It shows you're teachable. So I guess that was a good thing. And I had moved around a couple of times

That was the final straw. And so I had to sell the home and move. I needed help from my family at that point, so I sold the house. And it was a very bitter, emotional transaction for me, having lost my grandmother's home, the family home, having people come like my aunt came and recorded, sat by the creek and recorded the sound of the creek for close to a half hour. And that just tore my heart out

It. Just a quick side note. I titled this frog's hollow because that's what my grandmother called the property. When we used to play in the creek, the smooth stones were coated with a thick green carpet of vegetation, and she used to call that frog spit. She always used to tell us, don't slip on the frog spit, but she referred to the property as frogs hollow
