Active versus passive mindset of business owners

article image placeholderUploaded by @LifeOrigami
You're passive in the way that you're you're not nearly quite as involved as you are. When you have a business where you're doing manufacturing wholesaling and retailing of your product, it's a lot more complicated. And it requires really being an active business owner. Now, that being said, you could say that consulting and coaching, you have to be active. But it's not the same. It's far less complex and it's a simpler, much simpler business model

#Business, I’m really exploring this idea of passive versus active mindset and involvement in the business

@LifeOrigami a better distinction is between a product business vs a services business…

Hi, Greg. First of all, congratulations on your business. I hope it does well and all the best for the holiday peak retail shopping season. When we previous startup, we used to provide platforms to retailers, large ecommerce dealers, and all their sales happened on Black Friday and holiday season and Christmas and all. So we know how critical that is. Coming back to the point you made about active versus passive, I think the distinction really is between a product business versus a services business

@LifeOrigami , @arish : the why before the how!

Why are we doing this? Why do we need to do this? Why do we need to do this now? Why can't we just continue the way we are? The answers to some of these questions determine the mindset that one needs to be in and then execute the project basis. This understanding the why and followed by the how or the what, whichever way you want to sequence it. That'd be my two cent to this. Thanks so much, Harish, for inviting me to this

Just trying to live in the learning curve

Hey, thank both of you, Baz and Irish for responding, you know, further thoughts. I mean, obviously a servicebased business, there is a difference between a service and a productbased business. There's no question about it. It but I found maybe it's the degree to which you've got to be committed and the degree to which you have to have to actively manage. Because we're manufacturing, we're wholesaling, we're retailing, we're focusing on the retail aspect of it
