Existing in "liminal spaces"

Not to be negative, I think we all understand that aspect, but I think everyone has warned each other and told those of my age range, or at least my experience currently, that it is really hard to find a job when you get out of college. Nothing is set in stone. But oh my goodness. I just wanted to touch on this in case there are any people in that demographic out there, because it is really difficult

Okay, let me try to do it, to do something different, to go through an avenue that's maybe less traditional and see if I can do that. But the thing is, you need time to figure that out and to plan and to execute. And you can't really do that if you're working a minimum wage job or just concerned with making rent. It takes a lot of time. So I hear you about the liminality. I think it's huge

So you got coders that are prospective coders that are trying to get into the field, can't because they don't have experience. And so on the flip side, they have to continue to pay for these certifications and get the ceus to maintain them, but they can't find a job in the field. So then you tell them things like, well, try an internship. Well, a lot of employers aren't offering internships anymore because more people are working remote

It is so strange to be in a position where you're looking through the resumes and then it's just like, okay, well, you need x, but you don't have y, but then you get y, and then you need. And it just goes on and on and on. And it's just, I think, a very broad discouragement in some ways

Hey, Ro, thank you so much for replying. I definitely appreciate hearing from someone who is going through something so similar, and I really appreciate your thoughts on it. Honestly, I don't know what else there is to say because you kind of just. You said it, really, and I just really love hearing that, you know, it's not just me. Love that it's not just me. So I'm so sorry that you're also experiencing the same thing. Thing

Very quick, short synopsis of it is that there are mechanisms that the Fed can use to ratchet down unemployment and pricing. Anyway, there's a lot of different mechanisms that keep unemployment at a certain rate so that it's more of an employer's market than it is an employee's market. Like we had recently, there were so many jobs that needed to be filled that employers were desperate to try and find people

Oh, my gosh. Emily, you are not alone in this. I am around the same age. I am a junior in college right now, and I'm on my internship search. And I know that this is the least stressful of the two, my full time job search and my internship search. But it has been so stressful. I'm telling you. I swear, I apply to ten every day, and I feel you writing a specific cover letter

I'm coming at this a little later in the conversation, but I really appreciate that you created this space for people who are going through these sort of transition periods where everything does seem incredibly uncertain. And I think especially in this fast paced digital world that we live in, where we're constantly being made aware of the. Concerning headlines or this mentality that the world is going to end and it's us versus them, and all these negative little bits of information are just constantly being fed to us
