And the majority of the time that when I you know, when I create art, it is something that happens on the page, the digital page, and it is just a wonderful experience to create it. And I have a lot more to learn in terms of honing in on my skill. And I always want to continue to learn. A lot of my art has to do with a spiritual process, has to do with my relationship with God and the encounters that I've had

I taught myself to crochet probably about a year ago. I paint. I paint pour on canvas, which I love, love, love. I would burn. I would couch. I paint on wood. Sometimes. I don't like that as much as the burning. I create crafts with Popsicle sticks. I also taught myself to sketch probably six, eight months ago, I started trying to learn how to sketch. I'm doing decent, but probably not up to par

And then sometimes I'm the only purveyor, the only viewer of these things, and so I'm the only one appreciating, which is fine, right? I mean, I've tried selling my physical art before, but there's too much pressure. And then it takes all the fun and it takes all of the artistry out of what's being created. Because suddenly it's like someone's paying me for something

100%. 100%. I learned that the hard way. Like, at first it was fine if someone wanted to buy a piece already made, but I received a commission and they wanted me to do one custom, a multi panel one, and, like, a massive and suddenly I'd never worked on that scale. And then it was huge
@SeekingPlumb

@marklesserart

Oh, good advice. I should have gone that route. I was giving too much access, I guess you could say to the customer. They told me the size that they want, which, understand, I get that, right? But then they also told me the color that they wanted, and then I was stupid enough to send a photo of the work in progress. And the response was, oh, that's cute
@Digitalpenz

@SeekingPlumb, #digitalpenzlink, https://youtube.com/@digitalpenz

And then there are times when it's time to release it, to share it with somebody else, or to give it away. And so, yeah, speaking of that, what you mentioned about selling art, people get caught up in that to the point where you lose the whole thing about having fun. Having fun. So we don't want to lose having fun when we're creating art. That's part of it. It's the joy of it. It's the fun of it

@marklesserart

That's not my main focus, but my main focus is that I really enjoy creating it. And I enjoy just also I enjoy when people do see it and they do like it, and when they feel challenged by it and they embrace what I'm putting out there. I love that too, but it's not contingent upon people liking it that I created. So thank you. Thank you for telling us your link and also for your contribution to this. Well
@Digitalpenz

@Renee_Slay

And it's interesting how I find it that I've never checked out other areas of artistry that I could do or maybe never given myself the opportunity to go for the other things like the bracelets or creating necklaces or beating that I wanted to do, but I haven't done it yet. And so the challenge to me is, like, why haven't I?
@SeekingPlumb

@Digitalpenz

Yes. The importance of it being for us and for fun. This photo embodies that perfectly. I enjoyed the process of it. I hated the image when I was done, but I was like, Wait a minute. This kind of looks like a unicorn blowing bubbles. A bubble blowing unicorn. So then I went back in with some acrylic ink and modified it a little bit, and then I just had to share because it was silly. And why not?

Hey, I would invite you to go to some thrift store or whatever you do your shopping or some sort of low key sort of nice store or whatever, that you get a pink sweater. Get a pink sweater in some pink gloves. And I'm saying that because for me, again, I just noticed really embraced this color, pink. And I never thought I would ever embrace the color pink. I never thought I would ever, ever
@Digitalpenz

@SeekingPlumb

Ah, just a heads up. I actually sent the request from my other account, and I need to change that because I want you to be under my digital Pens Couch account. So if you could go back and revisit my request so that it's under the digital pens. Thank you

Mainly I'm doing the paint pour stuff which I'm going to attach a picture of that as well just so that you get an opportunity to see it. That's actually pretty cool because that's not immediate results because it takes 24 hours to dry. But it is manipulation of a mess. You just figure out how you want the paint to pour on there and you just go to town. So that I enjoy as well quite a bit. I love that you're exploring your creative side

Okay. So I decided that since I'm already up, I could show you my shelf that I made out of Popsicle sticks or crafting sticks. And another little decor item that I made out of those. Those are kind of fun, too. Hot glue burns. That's my only my only little thing to mention there. Oh, yeah. And here sits the time that I decided I was going to learn how to pour resin and create things

And so when you're actually making art and you're burning into wood, there's something really just wonderful about the smell and just the whole thing about the burning and all that. Also, a long time ago, I used to do I don't know what you call it, but create some things on a wheel with wood. And just the smell in the area where we were working was just overwhelming and just so beautiful. And I can still remember that swell
@Digitalpenz

@Renee_Slay

You mentioned pottery and things like that. That's another area that I want to explore at some point. And I might even get, like, one of those miniature pottery reels for the miniature pottery. Because I like miniatures. I love miniature, like, miniature pottery, miniature sort of like doll house furniture. The things that go inside the doll house kind of thing. But I mostly like the things that we would say see a modern kitchen, having that to be a miniature modern kitchen
@SeekingPlumb

@Digitalpenz

I forgot about that. But I guess I'm always wearing them with I think maybe there's one I wear with a fuchsia top, but I wear them with other things, too. Like you said, it can be like this nice accent color. It can work

So I'm actually glad that I found this post. I was listening to the other artists even share in addition to your original post. And I'm like learning a lot. I think all artists I'm going to just say it that way, I think all artists are kind of that way. We create for ourselves and then we put it out for the world. I've only experienced one time where I've met an artist who really only created just to make money, and it blew my mind
article image placeholderUploaded by @FarikaB_Redux

@SeekingPlumb

It's. Yes, it definitely can work. I like those ink and resin that you did. Very beautiful. There's one down the bottom that's sort of the blue, and maybe you call it fuchsia. Sort of pink and kind of purple. That's cool. Way cool. Gives pink a chance. Give pink a chance. Actually, the three colors blue, pink and purple. That's a vibe, for sure. So check out those flavors together
@Digitalpenz

@FarikaB_Redux

I'm learning new things every single day, accompanied with my own flavor, my own vibe, what I do. And I kind of try to combine what I learn with what I just want to put on the page or put on the tablet, so to speak. Thank you for including your online presence so we can take a look at what's going on with you in different places. And I was going to say people had different definitions about whether someone's an artist or whether they call themselves creative
@SeekingPlumb

@Digitalpenz

Oh. I didn't make the pendants. I found a woman online who made them. She doesn't make them anymore, but for a time there, for a few years, I collected them. I'm not entirely averse to pink. I think you're right. There's certain combinations, and it works really well. It's not something I want to wear as a it's just not something I want to wear guess let's put it that way
@gentlesouliving
So doing this work really freed me up my own personal art and my own creativity to just make stuff just for the sheer, just for the sake of it being pleasurable and joyful and inspiring. And I think that work really was kind of a blessing. So now I create things and I look at it and I think, yeah, this is some good art

One thing about abstract is that, I don't know, I love abstract because I like abstract. I like surrealism, and I like portraiture. I like all of that. I like miniatures. So but something about abstract is that, you know, you can put colors together, you know, however you're feeling, whatever's going on with you, and it just works out well, you know? It just it just turns out the way that it'll turn out

And it's a lot more durable than I thought and it's pretty cool for the charcoal. So right now I'm starting to slow down because I just wanted to draw. I was doing portraits for people and stuff, but now I'm looking, I'm seeing some of these guys are spending five months on these pictures

Thanks for showing us your art and thanks for coming on The Swell and giving us a little bit of a of information about yourself and all of that. Thanks a lot and
