Seventh "Podcast" Standards of Perfection

So going from toxic beauty standards, I feel like that topic definitely relates a lot to society's expectations about perfection. So I do want to talk a little bit about that as well, just because toxic beauty standards and society's expectations have a lot in common. So what are your thoughts on society's expectations?

I personally don't think there's such thing as a perfectionist or perfectionism, because in this world, there's just nothing that can actually be fully perfect. A lot of things just aren't in your control. And that's okay. Society sometimes will not accept that, but that's the truth. I want to thank Rachel for coming on with me and helping me share some important thoughts. And I want to thank you guys for listening and to help you tune in for my next quote unquote podcast

This state of mind of an individual which triggers perfection as a status is also one of the reasons behind depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders. People come forward holding irrational ideals for themselves and then manifest unrealistic expectations for their academic performances, their professional achievements, and even how they should look and what they should own. Everything is decided on what society will think and on what makes them look perfect. Yet they forget that, as said earlier, perfection is an impossible goal

At some point, we're going to have to stop thinking about what other people think and just love ourselves and think about what we want and what we think. And I love the idea that you brought up about being imperfectly perfect. I totally agree with that, except I feel like nothing in this world is actually perfect. So we're all imperfectly. Imperfect. And that's what makes us, I guess, quote unquote, perfect, because we are just so imperfectly. Imperfect
