And that's how, even though it is spelled differently with a P, it was named for the horse La comp, and will forever be a misspelling. Now, coming to the race, this race has become one to really watch. And although it's an older race, it was first run in 1943. It used to be open to older horses, and the distance has been changed, and it really hasn't become that well known of a race until 2003, when it became a graded steaks

So you kind of have to reassess what the chances are of the runners here, and I'll go through that in a second. And before I do that also one thing to note, eight Red and Wild. This is a horse we've already seen. We saw him run in the springboard mile, and I have remarked at that time in the notes that he got a terrible beginning and he's probably one to watch next time out

Well, we have a few horses to watch on our watch list out of the Lacomp Stakes. First of all, Midnight Run. The winter, of course, is somebody that we're going to have to watch here. Moving forward. He ran a great race, although he set some really, really easy fractions on the front end
