So just before COVID when I was discussing the idea of writing a new book with my literary agent, Sohail Mathur of the bookmakers, he was asking me whether there was any incident which happened in Missouri that I could write about. And as soon as he said that, I realized that this was a brilliant idea because there was a very famous murder which happened in Missouri in the early part of the 20th century, where a british woman was found murdered in a hotel room
