TikTok vs the US Government: Who is winning?

article image placeholderTikTok has no chill: Users are defending CEO Shou Zi Chew over his congressional appearance so vehemently that some have started lusting for him
And today we're seeing a completely different side and almost a 180 to what we were experiencing at the end of last week. TikTok users are praising Shu. They are vilifying the United States government, calling them tech illiterate. They're posting examples of how the lawmakers truly don't understand this technology. They're also pointing out that the lawmakers were completely rude to Chew and that Chew handled it beautifully

And let's be honest, across the board, facebook, Instagram, even the device itself, I'm talking to you on you right now, are posting this, does collect information, and it probably collects more information than we might even know about ourselves, and certainly more that needs to be passed around and traded as like a commodity

#JoeMcCarthy #populacesociety #governmentbans #comicbooks #tictok #China #Russia

And that is specifically the theo Joe McCarthy type philosophy and the populist society of the 1950s in comparison with today and where we were at, as well as theo government's oversight and fight against comic books back in theo 1950s, which today would be the modern day concept of TikTok. Same idea that they're just afraid of it and trying to do away with it. And finally, how today we are currently suffering from this paranoia with China

So I dug up an article that kind of goes into the history of it and explains it a little bit for people that may not be familiar with this. Very interesting parallel that you bring up. Thank you so much for doing that. It's a very interesting read here

The thing is that you do have to be mindful about who is in possession of your data, the companies itself and what do they plan to use with this data. Because we all know how Facebook went into a whole Tizzy when Apple decided that it wasn't going to allow websites or apps to track you via the device anymore. And Facebook went full blown crazy about their ad revenue and it's taking away from Facebook being free and all this kind of stuff that nobody really cared about in the first place

And the reason that I'm really enamored with this question and why it gives me so much pause when I look at this app and I know you mentioned you weren't on it, is that it really kind of captures your reptilian response of tell my finger from the brain to stop the scroll right here. And then the algorithms go to work and they feed more of what they think you are going to want to see. You're not following anybody

I think it's interesting that you mentioned kind of what is theo, you know, the whole thing about the scrolling because it's mindless scrolling. The one thing that I learned about social media about ten years ago and I think that's when it kind of lost its luster for me and I kind monitor how much I'm on social media is that your best commodity in your life is time. You only have 24 hours a day

Any other time, I would say the government winning. I meant TikTok winning. But in this particular time, the the government's not having there's too much like it's the information flow. It ain't got nothing to do with the data or nothing like that information and nothing to do with none of that. Because there are already all over here collecting all kinds of data that don't even make sense. It's the information that people can share on there that they can't control

As long as they are bad actors, destroying the government from within TikTok will win Trump 2024

You. Quite honestly, it doesn't matter what the people may say. The government has so much corrupt people, so much degenerate, so much people who want to destroy us from within. TikTok isn't going to be banned. Trump had the right idea of trying to ban Theo. But because of idiot society, trump bad. Trump bad. Trump bad. Now kids are addicted to this stupid platform. Information is being stolen, lives are being lost. Predators are lurking
