What app changed your life?

Welcome to Tuesday. It's Rachel back with the Daily Slow today I am wondering what is an app that has changed your life for me? Definitely the Headspace app. And the reason I say that is is because it's probably out of any app I have downloaded since becoming a smartphone user in Man, what was it now? 2011?

And then I just got on Google Maps, and I actually took a shortcut I've never taken before to actually get where I needed to go. But I probably would have driven around for at least ten extra minutes had I not had Google Maps. And it's just something that's always there that I completely take for granted right now. But that is something that I just really struggle to remember how I used to actually get around before Google maps

Google maps

Turn left, turn right, do all those kinds of things. It also amazes me and I get a kick out of my own frustrations and probably yours. And everybody else's is how you react on the rare occasions when Google makes a mistake. I think that's kind of a funny thing because think that we react to it as if how could they possibly make a mistake

thank you @varun! 🗺

Google Maps. I can't believe I didn't even think of that one. Phil. I immediately started smiling and laughing when you mentioned it because it brought me back to 2009 or early 2010 before I personally had a smartphone and I moved to San Francisco for a job and had never been there before. I was not familiar with it at all, and I would get lost and didn't have a smartphone so I couldn't access Google Maps

@Howie 😹 #guilty

Howie, I just heard your response and was laughing because it is hilarious when Google Maps messes up and either you get stuck in some alley or on a one way street or something. And I have been guilty of this myself. As far as getting really mad or seeing other people get really mad about it. Meanwhile, it's like, what a luxury that we have this tool at our fingertips. I'm laughing about a lot of stories like that

True story. About 30 years ago, I was invited to Israel to spend a week with a friend of mine who was a venture capitalist. He took me from spot to spot to spot, showing me new kinds of technology use. In one of the stops we made, we went to see a presentation on what they called GPS. I had never heard of it, had no clue what I was about to see. But they did a demo of showing how they could map the world

Oh, yes, Google Maps. You know, when you posted this question, it really set me off thinking and was quite a head scratcher. I was like, what app has really changed my life. But yes, we do take Google Maps so much for granted. Don't we wanted to share a small story just on that front

#digitalwellbeing

So just to make you the cyclotical craving of social media apps more important, you need to use social media more. But so I started using this digital wellbeing app, and I started limiting my time. So on Android, which I use, it says, oh, you can sit here half an hour for each limiting myself. I set for Instagram. I'm going to use it for only half an hour every day. I'm going to set it to Watts for half an hour every day
