That's the one thing that has always kind of been the Unwritten rule, you do not touch journalists. So with that, I'm trying to understand, does this legitimize the murder of Khashoggi or is this the right thing to be doing at this time, especially with gas prices high?

This is so hypocritical. All I can say is I'm very upset with this. And someone lost their life. Someone was murdered at the beginning. Even to negotiate about anything else. This is our president

And he distinguished between journalists and the general public. So with journalists, he believes, especially those affiliated with the publications that Khashoggi wrote for, it's because he was somebody that they'd see at holiday parties and stuff like that, quite literally, like he was a buddy co worker. His life means more to them than some random Yemeni kid. So that's what they're going to focus on with regular Americans. He thinks it's a combination of a number of different things
