#AskSwell Should the USPS be prioritizing Amazon packages?

article image placeholderA rural post office was told to prioritize Amazon packages. Chaos ensued.
Last week in the town of Bemidji, Minnesota, there were early morning protests held by mail carriers before their shifts began. They were protesting that they were working under unsustainable working conditions and that the prioritization of Amazon deliveries over actual mail was the cause. Now, while these reports have surfaced at other places throughout the United States, it seems that conditions in Bemidji, Minnesota are especially harsh. Now taking a step back, there was an agreement that was entered into between Amazon and the US Postal Service

We have Amazon warehouses, so we have the Amazon drivers and then we have our mailman so they're separate. But I can understand living in such an area know if you don't have an Amazon warehouse like in your town or your city, yes, the postal service is going to have to do it, especially if you live in a more rural area

Unfortunately, there are companies who think humans are robots, and they take away their time of rest. And that's where it becomes a problem for many of us customers who rely on medical supplies or other supplies or gifts and such. So I see both sides to this. When I was at a job I didn't like, and this job was extremely stressful for me, I stayed with it for months and months and months, and I realized something. I realized something that was really important, right?
