The Anti-Diet Movement: Can you guess who is behind it?

article image placeholderAs obesity rises, Big Food and dietitians push ‘anti-diet’ advice
And once the big corporations understood that this is resonating with people, they came in. Now, General Mills has toured the country touting anti diet research it claims that proves the harms of food shaming. Now keep in mind, this is the company that makes cocoa puffs and lucky charms, along with other highly processed breakfast sugary foods and snacks. Now, according to the article, the post analyzed more than 6000 social media posts by 68 registered dietitians with at least 10,000 followers

When I'm not eating processed food, it's not just. It's a body positivity in a different way from the inside out. When I have more energy, when I have less brain fog and my mind is clearer, that feels good to me, as opposed to saying, hey, I'm wearing massage jeans, but I'm still beautiful. I like to know that my blood work is normal, that all systems are a go, and that really makes a big difference based on my diet

But there's a running joke on Instagram in the diabetic community that diabetes is the cereal killer. Nice play on words, but that's the reality. You know, if you enjoy cereal, don't get diabetes. At least don't get type two, because that stuff drives your glucose sky high. And now you have these cereal companies. Who wants to drive home the point that you could just eat. Eat whatever you want. I strongly urge everyone, don't do that

It's taken me a long time to accept my body and to actually really see the image that is being portrayed versus how my brain sees it. Yeah, like I said, I'm definitely for this movement. However, the fact that companies that make really food that is bad for you and highly processed, I don't agree with that and I do question their motives. But I do like this idea. So thank you for posting this. Really appreciate it. Bye
