#VoiceYourOpinion How will the workplace change in 2024?

article image placeholderUploaded by @daily
I think especially with the events of 2020, this is something that the Gen Z generation is going to be demanding in the workplace, and it's not going to be around talk. It's going to be around action and what they see. So these are the changes that I think are going to be coming into the workplace. I think you're going to start seeing that in 2024. But what do you think? What is going to change?

Gen Z will overtake Boomers for the first time in early 2024 marking an important milestone

Because unfortunately, nursing, it's not about customer service. It's not about making sure that you tell everybody. Yes. And that you got to be nice to everybody because sometimes you got to be mean to a patient for them to get it. Sometimes you really do. And if they are going to be unwilling to do that or get me in trouble because I did what I needed to do for my patient. We're already short staffed as it is. You're really going to do that?

So I'd like to offer some real life proof that what you've brought forth here is happening and maybe talk a little bit about what we're not only seeing with 20 somethings in the workplace, but also what we're hearing from their managers in leadership and management training classes and then of course from human resources and executives. A few things to look for everybody that we're seeing and hearing about from Gen Z. Full transparency

And when I've worked for smaller organizations, when somebody that reports to me just goes straight to the CEO to talk about something, I enjoyed that because that was at least two less conversations that I had to have and that was something that they could work out themselves. And it's like whoever's available should talk about and come to a resolution of what needs to happen. And I've found that innovation happens a lot

I think that when I say nonlinear, non traditional, I also mean not necessarily flat because if you close your eyes and I can just give you an image, I think that the organizations of the future, big and small, are going to be more circular and curvy than they are flat. Lines, lines. We're used to triangles. And I mean, that like old organizational structure, traditional hierarchical structure was built on the pyramid model, right?
